For the warmup, I started off with basic blues scales such as the F, B flat, and C while playing those chords in the left hand. I then moved on warmups to loosen up my fingers such as arpeggios and the playing of the scales faster. I think this is a good warm up to start off because it gets more and more challenging. I also use a chord progression that I used at the Dorset School Jazz band. It as an easy little chord progression with some movement which helps me sharpen up.

For the improv, I started by playing a simple "bluesy" bass line in the left hand. After I got that worked out I started soloing and trying many different things on the MIDI. I worked with Dave in one of those classes. We talked about using the whole note scale and trying to find a "landing spot" when the backing track moved between the I IV and V chords. I feel very comfortable with the blues scale, but am still working on improving the whole scale so I can use it regularly. I think this shows a lot in the solo.
